Project:
Kronenplatz Winnenden
Year:
2018 – ongoing
Location:
Winnenden, Germany

The areas of Kronenplatz and Holzmarkt are key locations between the historic center of Winnenden and the adjacent areas. As part of a redevelopment project, these transitional spaces are being transformed into important public areas that shape the city’s identity.
At Kronenplatz, the configuration of the buildings creates permeability for pathway connections. A raised building structure frames the public space, providing stability and reinforcing this vital urban setting.
Holzmarkt, on the other hand, is a linear open space. On its eastern side, gaps between buildings are filled with three new structures that reflect the surrounding scale.
The ground floors in both areas are designated for retail, while the upper floors accommodate apartments or offices.
