RAILWAY STATION
The international railway link connects Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey with its main interconnecting station in Akhalkalaki.
Project:
Railway Station
Year:
2010 – 2018
Location:
Akhalkalaki, Georgia
This international railway station in Akhalkalaki is part of the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, that connects Azerbaijan and Turkey through Georgia while effectively improving the wider economic relations between Europe and Asia. As the first stop in Georgia after the Turkish border, the railway tracks change in gauge, which required a conversation in distance between tracks in Akhalkalaki. The station and the city become a place of exchange and communication for all three countries and will serve up to three million passengers per year.
