POLICE STATION
The medieval towers of Svanetia are given a contemporary counterpart, with which the new police station embodies the reformed agenda architecturally as well.
Project:
Police Station
Year:
2011 – 2012
Location:
Mestia, Georgia
The project is situated in the heart of the old town of Mestia, next to the newly built city-hall. Its tower-like shape pays homage to the medieval stone towers that are traditional for Mestia’s mountainside region. The façade is comprised of prefabricated textured concrete and large openings which offer a maximum of transparency.
