Mühlenfeld Residential Development
Year:
2024 – ongoing
Location:
Hanover
Burgwedel is located in the Hanover region offers a rural charm, proximity to the city, and a harmonious environment. An excellent infrastructure with convenient transport connections, numerous shopping opportunities, good healthcare services, as well as hotels and restaurants, makes this place popular. In this setting, the Mühlenfeld residential area combines sustainability, comfort, and creativity.
The residential complex consists of 70 rental units in gable-roofed houses, which, due to the shifting of their base areas, appear from many angles as if they are a randomly arranged group. However, they are actually organized in two rows, continuing the structure of the neighboring buildings. Different apartment types cater to the individual needs and lifestyles of future residents, from compact units for singles and couples to spacious family homes. The individual units are integrated with the communal outdoor space, creating a cohesive whole that expands private living areas with various possibilities. Playgrounds, covered areas, and a community center as a central gathering point help enhance social sustainability through a strong sense of neighborhood.
The outdoor space is designed with ecological value, featuring natural meadows, regional plants, water features, and bird habitats, which promote the biodiversity of the complex and foster a harmonious coexistence of people and nature.
The houses are constructed from prefabricated wooden elements and modules, allowing for sustainable, fast, and flexible construction with high quality and energy efficiency. Modern technical solutions, such as solar power generation, geothermal heat pumps, and a rainwater harvesting system, make the residential complex a pioneer in innovative and sustainable living concepts.
