An ECOLA exhibit designed by J. MAYER H. to launch at Sto Werkstatt
HANDS-ON creates a unique experiential environment, rich in texture and materiality, through which the ECOLA winning projects will be displayed. As the centrepiece of the exhibition, J. MAYER H. has conceived of a freestanding, large scale form ; an abstraction of a reaching hand that creates a visual link to the handcraft still involved in the plastering trade and the material’s own haptic qualities.
The sculpture is a multi-functional object serving as seating and a forum for discussion of the award winning projects, which will be projected onto the surrounding walls. Architecture schemes from 20 countries across Europe are displayed, varying in scale and style, showcasing the material’s diverse application and its integral role in the creative process.
